further funding has been secured to extend the wokingham barn owl box network: a partnership of ready mixed concrete, reading ornithological club , the environment agency and wokingham district council have pledged £2500 to put up a further 6 barn owl boxes around the district.

this brings the total to 19 boxes put up since 2002.

last year was a very poor year for barn owls in the southeast of england as we only recorded one nesting pair and chick in all 13 of the existing boxes.
